At Biocare we are focused on processing waste biomass through pyrolysis into a valuable commodity, biochar. With 18+ contracted biochar projects across Australia, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and the USA; and with a contracted portfolio of 250,000 CDR credits p.a we are the trusted partner for agricultural, industrial, and forestry businesses interested in biochar carbon removals.
Carbon removal projects that convert biomass to Biochar
Why partners work with Biocare
Maximise your climate impact and improve the livelihoods of communities living in and around the project area.
Maximise your climate impact
An additional regular revenue stream helps to diversify the project's income, generated from upcycling biomass waste into biochar, a valuable commodity.
Create a new revenue stream
Access to carbon markets and savings in additional expenses to develop, maintain and market the carbon credits.

What do we do?
Our current portfolio includes 18+ projects in 6 countries with 5 different engineered reactor technologies. These projects manage a wide range of biomass waste, including waste husks (almond, rice, coconut) and forestry residues.

Some of our partners
Biochar can be created from biomass waste from agribusiness and forestry industries. These industries often have a waste problem, and Biocare helps turn that problem into an asset - in turn creating durable carbon removal. The production of biochar from biomass is an ancient process being modernised through pyrolysis technology.
Once biochar is created, it can store carbon for hundreds or even thousands of years in its end-use application. This stands as a premium method of carbon removal in contrast to other carbon removal methods, such as reforestation, which can only storage carbon for the lifespan of the trees.
Biochar is "black gold". It reduces the reliance on nitrogen based fertiliser, promotes water retention, improves soil fertility and promotes the sequestration of carbon in soils. It also creates job opportunities and promotes circular economy processing waste into a valuable carbon commodity that can be added back to the land.
Biochar production and application can yield CDR credits issued in the global voluntary market. These removals are calculated using a monitoring and verification framework and rely upon on scientific lab measurement.
Climate Benefits of Biochar CDR
We support projects that leverage innovative and emerging technologies to provide creative solutions to emissions reduction. This ensures we can drive industry change towards a greener future.
We have vast experience in trading offsets in Australian carbon markets. We can introduce you to the carbon markets and guide you through the complexities of the carbon exchange process.
Biocare has team members available "on the ground" to provide expertise and guidance during critical project stages
With 10 contracted biochar projects across Australia, Asia, the Pacific, South America and USA, we are the trusted partner for agricultural, industrial, and forestry businesses.
World leading technology
The IPCC has recognised CDR is a ‘must have’. Carbon removal is essential for achieving global climate goals because it provides a means to reduce atmospheric carbon levels, complement emissions reduction efforts, and mitigate the most severe impacts of climate change.
Industry leaders such as Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Airbus and more are announcing record CDR transactions. On May 22nd, Microsoft, a leader in CDR procurement, announced it acquired 2.76 million carbon removal credits
High-integrity carbon removal is preferred because it contributes to a more sustainable and stable future by actively reducing the levels of atmospheric CO2 and mitigating the impacts of climate change
Biocare is a world leader in CO2 removal project development & monetisation. Partner with innovative companies to evaluate and implement projects to help them manage their biomass waste, generate registry-compliant CDR and upcycle waste into an additional income stream.
Achieving Net-Zero Emissions with Carbon Removal
What is a carbon removal project?
To keep global warming below 1.5°C, permanent and high quality carbon removal is required to support more common carbon reduction strategies. Biocare offers an end to end premium service to capture your waste and to convert carbon into biochar that can be permanently stored. Our consultants and projects provide bespoke carbon dioxide removal services that are permanent, measurable, and scalable - and allow your organisations to claim a true contribution to environmental sustainability
