We invest in high integrity projects using state of the art technology and market leading experience. Combining nature and technology is the most cost effective durable carbon strategy. Combining photosynthesis with pyrolysis to produce biochar (or “black gold”) is the most scalable technology available that also produces various co-benefits.

Biochar can be created from biomass waste from agribusiness and forestry industries. These industries often have a waste problem, and Biocare helps turn that problem into an asset - in turn creating durable carbon removal. The production of biochar from biomass is an ancient process being modernised through pyrolysis technology.
Once biochar is created, it can store carbon for hundreds or even thousands of years in its end-use application. This stands as a premium method of carbon removal in contrast to other carbon removal methods, such as reforestation, which can only storage carbon for the lifespan of the trees.
Biochar is "black gold". It reduces the reliance on nitrogen based fertiliser, promotes water retention, improves soil fertility and promotes the sequestration of carbon in soils. It also creates job opportunities and promotes circular economy processing waste into a valuable carbon commodity that can be added back to the land.
Biochar production and application can yield CDR credits issued in the global voluntary market. These removals are calculated using a monitoring and verification framework and rely upon on scientific lab measurement.
